Anjali Sobti, MD, is a board certified family medicine physician at TPMG Colonial Family Medicine in Williamsburg. She earned her undergraduate degree in Pre-Medicine Psychology from the University of Illinois and her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Chicago. She, then, completed her residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago. The accredited program primarily focuses on serving diverse and underprivileged patient populations in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Dr. Sobti chose to pursue a career in family medicine for the unique opportunity to work with families and minimize the effects of disease through integrated care. As a primary care physician, she is dedicated to developing long lasting relationships with her patients and encourages individuals to take an active role in their health. Through proactive interventions and patient self-management, Dr. Sobti utilizes evidence-based practice guidelines to identify and treat chronic conditions and prevent complications.
With nearly a decade of experience in family medicine, she is committed to improving the health of her patients through preventative medicine and health maintenance. Dr. Sobti offers a variety of services including routine physicals, well-woman exams, screenings and immunizations, and disease management. She provides care to patients of all ages and is a strong advocate for preventative medicine. She believes optimal health and wellness is achievable for anyone through proper diet, exercise, and preventive screenings. Prior to joining TPMG, she had clinical experience working in both urban and rural hospital settings caring for newborns to geriatrics and working with patients suffering multiple comorbidities.
Dr. Sobti is board certified through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). She has also been published in peer reviewed medical journals focused on male subfertility and clinical assisted reproduction.
Eager to stay current on the latest medical advancements and enhance patient care, she is currently working on her fellowship. The Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP) designation is given to physicians who are dedicated to continuing medical education, public service, advanced training, and medical research.
TPMG welcomed Dr. Sobti to TPMG Colonial Family Medicine in 2020. Living in the Tidewater area, she enjoys the close proximity to the beach and spending quality time with her family outdoors. She warmly welcomes patients to reserve an appointment with her.
