Allergy and Asthma Specialist in Chesapeake, VA
Dr. Christina Ortiz is an allergy specialist at TPMG Coastal Allergy in Chesapeake, VA. She is trained to treat both adults and children, including infants. Dr. Ortiz is a Virginia native and attended James Madison University for her undergraduate degree. She earned her Medical Degree and Master of Public Health at Eastern Virginia Medical School, with a focus on health management and communication. She completed her Pediatric Residency with an emphasis on global health at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Most recently, Dr. Ortiz trained among outstanding clinicians and researchers within the field at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN for her Allergy and Immunology Fellowship.
As an allergy and asthma specialist, Dr. Ortiz treats a variety of allergic conditions, including seasonal and indoor allergies, asthma, eczema, medication and food allergies, and sinusitis. She provides up-to-date allergy testing to identify triggers of allergic symptoms or asthma. She also offers a variety of treatment options, including allergen immunotherapy (allergy shots), which is an individualized treatment option that offers long-term relief and asthma prevention.
In her clinical practice, Dr. Ortiz aims to actively listen and develop a partnership with her patients to understand their condition. She then tailors a treatment approach toward each patient’s needs to improve their health and quality of life.
Dr. Ortiz is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, a conjoint board of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Ortiz was born and raised in Chesapeake and during her free time, she enjoys traveling, photography, and spending time with her family. Whether at home or on one of several international medical mission trips, she enjoys making a difference in the lives of her patients. Dr. Ortiz is excited to return home with her husband and two daughters to open her practice TPMG Coastal Allergy and further serve the Hampton Roads community as an allergy and asthma specialist.
