Danielle Shell, PA-C earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. Furthering her education, she earned her Master of Physician Assistant at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia. Danielle is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) as a Physician Assistant and practices at TPMG Rheumatology.

Drawn to a career in medicine from an early age, Danielle has always had a fascination with human anatomy and physiology. She is interested in how the body works and examining the pathology to uncover healthcare solutions and treatment options. She views the health care process as a puzzle and enjoys finding innovative solutions based on science. As a provider, Danielle is a strong supporter of evidence-based medicine in order to deliver the right care at the right time for her patients. Through shared decision-making between patients and provider, she helps patients take an active role in their health. This autonomy is imperative for effective healthcare.

Danielle treats adults with rheumatic conditions including osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, lupus, gout, among others. She has a special medical interest in emergency medicine and internal medicine, specifically rheumatology and endocrinology. Danielle is also a member of multiple professional organizations including the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants (VAPA).

When she isn’t seeing patients, Danielle appreciates the outdoor lifestyle that Hampton Roads has to offer. She enjoys hiking, walking, taking trips to the beach, and taking her young dachshund on walks and to agility and scent classes. Since both she and her husband attended Virginia Tech, they also enjoy attending sporting events and tailgating for the Virginia Tech football team.

Danielle invites new patients to schedule an appointment with a physician referral at TPMG Rheumatology.
