Her background includes Neurology/Neurosurgery, Gastrointestinal Medicine, Infectious Disease, Family Practice, Urology, and Urgent Care.
Donna began her medical education after she became a mother. She noticed that patient education wasn’t yet a priority and sought to educate herself. The more she learned, the more she desired to be a part of changing the world of health care. She became an avenue through which her patients could make informed decisions and ask questions about their health care. Donna strives to give voice to her patients, to be a strong patient advocate and educator, and to supply honesty tempered with compassion. She acts as a team member and listener for the betterment of her patients.
As a board certified family nurse practitioner, Donna provides patient assessment, relevant diagnostics, analysis, patient interaction, differentials, and referrals if needed. She treats an array of disorders, including female and male incontinence, kidney stones, and erectile dysfunction, as well as chronic conditions such as prostate cancer and bladder cancer. She treats adult patients.
Donna is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates, and the American Urological Association. She also participated in multiple research projects, including Infectious Disease and Urology Studies. In 2007, Donna was published in an article on Hepatitis C. She was also awarded the prestigious Florence Nightingale pin for her notable work in nursing.
When she is not seeing patients, Donna loves to spend time with family, visit the beach, explore the historical sites Hampton Roads have to offer, and continue her quest on learning how to quilt. TPMG Urology in Newport News welcomed Donna to the practice in 2021.
