Dr. Jacob Almeida earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the State University of New York, College at Geneseo and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Des Moines University. He completed his post-graduate training in internal and geriatric medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, serving as Administrative Chief Resident in his final year.

Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, Dr. Almeida provides comprehensive primary care services to adults 18 years of age and older with a focus on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Dr. Almeida specializes in the care of older adults with complex medical problems and provides treatment and management of various conditions associated with aging. His medical interests include caring for seniors with complex disorders such as Alzheimer’s, the diagnosis and management of dementia, and successful aging.

As a primary care physician, Dr. Almeida enjoys building long-lasting relationships with his patients and their families and providing guidance to help them make the healthiest lifestyle and medical choices for their individual needs.

Dr. Almeida’s focus and dedication to providing long-term, individualized care for his patients influenced his decision to pursue a fellowship in geriatric medicine. This added training and practice as a geriatrician allows Dr. Almeida to offer individualized medical plans to help seniors live at their highest level of function and maintain their independence for the longest amount of time.  

Dr. Almeida is a member of the American College of Physicians and American Geriatric Society. He has been practicing at TPMG Peninsula Internal and Geriatric Medicine since 2012.
