BIOGRAPHY

Jocelyn B. Reese, FNP-C earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner in 2021 from Walden University. Upon, starting her medical career, Jocelyn worked as a medical assistant in a primary care office. She then served as an Emergency Room tech while in nursing school. Training in numerous roles, she has a diverse background in health care working in the emergency department and post-anesthesia care unit at numerous medical facilities, serving as a registered nurse since 2009. Before becoming a certified family nurse practitioner, she worked for 9 years at Riverside in Williamsburg.

Growing up, her mother worked as a nurse and their house sometimes served as a first-aid station for the neighborhood. Inspired by her mother’s caring nature, Jocelyn decided to follow in her footsteps and pursue a similar career.

Utilizing Jean Watson’s theory of caring to inform her work, Jocelyn strives to provide a holistic, patient-centered, partnership with her patients. Fostering informed patient relationships with open communication and listening, she aims to ensure her patients are well cared for. Her goal is to make each patient feel that she is present, providing evidence-based care and education for any concerns with respect, kindness, and compassion.

Jocelyn treats patients for a variety of acute illnesses and manages multiple chronic conditions, seeing everyone from newborns to older adults. Although she enjoys treating a breadth of conditions, she takes a special interest in pediatrics, women’s health, and cardiology.

When she isn’t seeing patients, Jocelyn enjoys baking, Zumba, taking family walks on local trails, and attending live music, theater, and dance. She enjoys living in Hampton Roads for its rich history, hometown feeling, and close proximity to both the water and mountains.

Jocelyn is excited to work alongside the team at TPMG West Point Family Practice and welcomes new patients to reserve an appointment with her.
