John “Davis” Ireland, PA-C, earned a Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and a Masters of Science in Clinical Medical Sciences through the Physician Assistant Program at Barry University in Miami, Florida. He is a certified Physician Assistant and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Drawn to the medical field during his undergraduate education, Davis pursued training and certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), serving the community on a local rescue squad in Harrisonburg. He gained further experience in the medical field at a local Hampton Roads emergency department and as a medical assistant at a Newport News family medicine clinic.
As a Physician Assistant at TPMG Colonial Endocrinology, Davis is committed to developing collaborative relationships with his patients. He is dedicated to providing thorough explanations, multiple treatment options, and recommendations to create the most effective and individualized treatment plans for each patient.
Having gained experience at an endocrinology clinic in Newport News during his physician assistant training, Davis is familiar with the challenges patients with chronic endocrine conditions face to manage their health. Understanding these difficulties, he has a special medical interest in the treatment of diabetes, thyroid disorders, low testosterone, and osteoporosis.
Outside of the office, Davis enjoys watching professional soccer and weightlifting.
Davis joins Dr. Karen Knudsen, board certified and fellowship-trained endocrinologist, at TPMG – Colonial Endocrinology in Williamsburg, where he is accepting new patients.
