Dr. Laurie Harris completed her undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise at Virginia Tech and her graduate degree in Physiology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Virginia Campus, in Blacksburg, Virginia in 2013. She completed her residency in Family Medicine through VCU Riverside Family Medicine Residency Program, Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia.
Dr. Harris is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine and American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, Medical Society of Virginia, and Virginia Rural Health Association.
Dr. Harris volunteers her time to services such as the VCOM International Outreach in the Dominican Republic, providing medical care to rural villages, as well as having provided relief efforts following the Haitian earthquake. In her spare time, Dr. Harris enjoys spending time and traveling with her husband, Jeffrey B. Harris, DO, also a TPMG physician at Yorktown Family Medicine. She also enjoys cooking, physical fitness, and outdoor activities such as cycling, camping, hiking, rock climbing, running, sailing, swimming, and various water sports.
Dr. Harris joined TPMG Family Practice of Hampton Roads in 2016 and welcomes new patients to reserve an appointment with her.
