OMM is a hands-on approach used to diagnosis, treat, and prevent illness or injury. Dr. Palumbo serves a broad patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. She treats both acute and chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, congestive heart failure, COPD/Asthma, sinus infections, ear infections, and urinary tract infections. Her special interests include preventative medicine, women’s health, Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) and outpatient procedures including trigger point injections, skin biopsies, and cryotherapy. She also provides family planning and contraceptive management procedures, such as IUD and Nexplanon insertion and removals.
Dr. Palumbo was drawn to the medical field after experiencing several sports injuries in high school and college, each requiring reconstructive surgeries. As a patient, she was inspired by the compassion, encouragement, and support she received. She decided to dedicate her life towards becoming a family medicine doctor and providing the same level of personal care. She enjoys the diversity family medicine allows and the ability to treat various types of medical conditions.
As a Doctor of Osteopathy, Dr. Palumbo takes a holistic approach to treating patients, considering the whole person – the body, mind, spirit, and emotions. This involves looking beyond the initial symptom and finding the root cause to treat the underlying problem. Dr. Palumbo practices evidence-based medicine, encouraging her patients to live active and healthy lifestyles while still focusing on disease and injury prevention. She is devoted to building trusted relationships with her patients. She carefully considers their needs and personal goals and provides support and guidance for them throughout their health care journey.
