Masood Ahmed, MD, FACC, received a MBBS at Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan in 1994 and served as House Officer/Medical Officer Registrar in Lahore, Pakistan from 1994 to 1997. He completed a fellowship in Internal Medicine at the College of Physician and Surgeons in Pakistan in 2001 and an Internal Medicine Residency in 2005 at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey.
Dr. Ahmed completed a Post-doctoral Cardiology Research Fellowship and a Nuclear Cardiology Fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine in 2006 and 2007, respectively. Dr. Ahmed also completed an additional Cardiology Fellowship at Sinai and St. Luke's Medical Center at the University of Wisconsin in 2010 and an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship in 2011 at Tulane University Heart and Vascular Institute in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Ahmed specializes in coronary and peripheral interventional cardiology and cardiovascular imaging. He has attained board certification in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, general cardiology, and interventional cardiology.
He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, American Society of Echocardiography, American Heart Association, American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications pertaining to internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine and has been presented with several awards for his commendable accomplishments.
Dr. Ahmed is fluent in English, Urdu and Punjabi. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing cricket and watching movies. TPMG welcomed Dr. Masood Ahmed in 2015 and the opening of TPMG Heart and Vascular Center in Newport News.
