Primary Care Doctor in Suffolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA

Ohad Sheffy, MD, is a board certified primary care doctor in Suffolk and VB with over a decade of experience in family medicine. He is dedicated to building trusted relationships with his patients and helping them establish their healthcare needs and goals.

Dr. Sheffy graduated from the Hadassah and Hebrew University School of Medicine in Jerusalem, Israel, in 2006, and practiced family medicine for four years before moving to the U.S. From 2010 to 2013 he completed residency training at JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Sheffy is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).

He enjoys the traditional scope of family medicine as it allows him to master a broad spectrum of health issues, while having the ability to develop long-term relationships with patients over their lifespan. His medical interests include preventative medicine, sports medicine, and the treatment of chronic conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes, arthritis, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.

As a primary care physician in Suffolk and Virginia Beach, he takes a holistic approach when diagnosing complex medical conditions. This involves gathering a history of the patient’s condition, understanding their challenges, and guiding them on a path of improved health and wellness. He finds great satisfaction in accurately diagnosing complex medical challenges patients have faced for years, in turn improving their quality of life and well-being.

He is passionate about teaching and finds it rewarding to be influencing the next generation of physicians. He has served as volunteer faculty for the Kaiser Permanente San Diego Family Medicine Residency program and served as a preceptor teaching medical students at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine.

Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, exploring new restaurants, and traveling. Dr. Sheffy warmly welcomes new patients to contact his office in Suffolk or Virginia Beach to reserve an appointment with him.
