Patricia Nelson, FNP-C, earned an Associates of Nursing degree at Piedmont Virginia Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk. Furthering her education at ODU, Patricia earned a Master of Science with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner in 2009.
As a family nurse practitioner, Patricia has worked in specialty clinics dedicated to medically supervised weight loss and cardiovascular care. She is experienced in the treatment of various cardiovascular conditions and the supervision of non-invasive cardiac testing. Patricia’s medical interests include the treatment and care of hypertension, hyperlipidemia and weight management, as well as the broad scope of cardiovascular conditions. She is dedicated to patient education and ensuring her patients have a thorough understanding of their condition to be in the best position to care for themselves and protect against further disease progression.
Prior to practicing as a family nurse practitioner, Patricia worked in the emergency department at hospitals in Charlottesville and Norfolk as a registered nurse for eight years. During this time, she performed clinical and administrative duties, receiving a Nurse Excellence Award for providing exceptional, compassionate care.
Patricia is a member of the American College of Nurse Practitioners. She enjoys living in Hampton Roads for the proximity to the beach and friendly communities.
Patricia practices alongside H. Lee Kanter, MD at TPMG Cardiovascular Specialists in Virginia Beach. She welcomes new and established patients to contact the office to schedule an appointment.
