Sherrard Marrow, LCSW, CCTP, earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a focus on Criminal Justice and Master of Social Work from Norfolk State University in Norfolk. He is a licensed clinical social worker with experience in mental health illnesses, substance abuse, and emotional disorders.

As a child, he desired a career where he could help others, which led to a fulfilling career in social work. He finds it rewarding to work in this career field for the opportunity to help people navigate through a challenging time in their life. He uses his training and expertise to provide patient-centered treatment plans which incorporate measurable and achievable goals.

He believes education and awareness are invaluable tools that allow people to make the best decisions. Sherrard advocates that fostering human relationships through competence and integrity can be a useful vehicle for creating change. He recognizes the dignity and worth of a person is paramount. In practice, he seeks to empower individuals, families, and communities to improve their level of function in their everyday lives.

As a behavioral therapist, Sherrard uses his varied experience to provide inpatient interdisciplinary treatment, crisis counseling, substance abuse counseling, and treat individuals suffering from trauma, anxiety, and depression. Through his knowledge of psychosocial functioning, he integrates therapeutic interventions using evidence-based practices. Sherrard strives to create meaningful relationships with his patients to rebuild their overall health. He believes one’s interpersonal interactions with others, their environment, and the multiple systems within it play a significant role in molding individuals to adapt and cope. Sherrard primarily works with adolescents and adults and has a special interest in treating trauma and substance abuse cases.

Sherrard is a member of the National Association of Social Work (NASW) and the NASW Virginia Chapter.

Outside of the office, he enjoys spending quality time with his family. He also likes to explore new restaurants and cuisines he wouldn’t typically eat. His favorite hobby is exercising. Sherrard warmly welcomes new patients to reserve an appointment with him.
