Vijay Subramaniam, MD, FCCP was born in Pune, India and moved with his parents to the United States when he was a toddler. He grew up in Logan, West Virginia where he was surrounded by the kindness of people. After graduating college, he traveled back to India to attend medical school at Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College and joined Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey where he completed his internship in internal medicine. He completed his residency at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, and an additional three years as a pulmonary and critical care fellow at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Subramaniam is board certified in Critical Care Medicine (2008), Pulmonary Medicine (2007), Internal Medicine (2004) and Sleep Medicine (2016). He is a member of the American College of Chest Physician (Fellow), American Thoracic Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, American Association of Chest Physician of Indian Origin and Association of Physician of India.
His clinical interests include; Interventional pulmonary, high frequency ventilation in ARDS, pulmonary rehabilitation, cardiothoracic critical care, portable oxygen delivery systems, and tuberculosis. He is proficient with advanced diagnostic techniques, including bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound.
Dr. Subramaniam and his family moved to Virginia in 2009. He is married to Dr. Sarita Golikeri Subramaniam (TPMG Colonial Family Medicine). TPMG welcomed Dr. Subramaniam in 2014.
