Virginia Escobar–Cheng, PA-C, attended Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, Florida, where she received her Bachelor of Biological Sciences. Following her undergraduate degree, she earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Charleston (UC) in Charleston, West Virginia. Virginia excelled academically at both institutions, graduating cum laude from FIU and magna cum laude from UC. She is licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Virginia joins TPMG – Coastal Allergy in Chesapeake.

Virginia became drawn to the medical field after volunteering at a nonprofit medical clinic. She saw firsthand how medicine and providers change people’s lives for the better. Virginia aspired to do the same.

Before joining TPMG, Virginia served as a medical assistant/medical scribe and a biology teacher. As a medical assistant/scribe, she gained experience documenting patient medical histories, performing diagnostic procedures, and educating patients on properly administering medication. At Homestead Senior High School – located in Homestead, Florida, Virginia taught biology courses and completed over 100 hours of coursework and seminars. She also practiced in various clinical settings where she managed chronic and acute medical conditions, performed physical exams, and performed procedures such as laceration repairs and wound care.

At TPMG – Coastal Allergy, Virginia treats pediatric and adult patients for seasonal and indoor allergies, asthma, eczema, and sinusitis. As a physician assistant, she delivers quality healthcare, builds trusting relationships, listens to patient concerns, and provides evidence-based medicine.

Virginia loves the outdoor activities that Hampton Roads offers – hiking, visiting the beach, and attending historical events. She also enjoys water painting and volunteering at her church’s Sunday school service for children.
