Clinical Neuropsychology focuses on brain-behavior relationships. A TPMG clinical neuropsychologist is a licensed psychologist with expertise in how behavior and skills are related to brain structures and systems. We evaluate brain function by objectively testing memory and thinking skills. Our neuropsychologists complete a detailed assessment of brain function and use that information in important health care areas, such as diagnosis and treatment planning. Based on the findings of our evaluation, we indicate recommendations for interventions by your providers.
Our Neuropsychologists will help you and your treatment team understand how different areas and systems of the brain work. Conducting evaluations can help psychologists recognize behavioral or cognitive changes resulting from illness, injury, or diseases of the brain like Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and other types of dementia.
TPMG offers evaluation consisting of interviews and testing, where we consider information including symptoms, medical history, medications, and other important factors. Our painless testing process, usually involving paper-pencil or computerized tests, can identify weaknesses in specific areas, differentiate between illnesses, establish and “baseline” to document a person’s brain function, and help plan treatments or monitor rehabilitation. Our goal is to provide the best possible evaluation and treatment plan for each of our patients.
At TPMG, our neurologists perform in-office services and testing including electroencephalogram (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), Nerve Conduction Study (NCS), acupuncture, and Botox for chronic migraines. Neurologists do not perform surgery. If a patient requires surgery, they are referred to a neurosurgeon.
