TPMG and Virginia Oncology Associates Presenting Men’s Health Seminar in Newport News

TPMG is proud to partner with Virginia Oncology Associates and Anthem HealthKeepers to present a Men’s Health Seminar

Newport News, VA – Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group (TPMG) is proud to partner with Virginia Oncology Associates (VOA) to present the “Man Up” Men’s Health Seminar on Saturday, June 8th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The seminar features physicians from a variety of medical specialties and includes topics ranging from prostate cancer to genetic testing for cancer. This is a great opportunity for men across Hampton Roads to learn more about specific topics related to their health and speak to professionals who specialize in the field. 

TPMG board certified urologist, Ifeanyi J. Ani, MD will be speaking on the risks of prostate cancer in his presentation Clear the Noise: Understanding the Impact of Prostate Cancer. Dr. Ani is experienced in general urology and minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic surgeries for benign and oncological diseases. He will be joined by VOA specialists, Mark T. Fleming, MD, Michael L. Miller, DO, and Tifany Lewis, MS, CGC. 

VOA board certified medical oncologist Mark T. Fleming, MD will be giving his presentation, Prostate Cancer Runs in the Family: An Update on the Hereditary Impact of Prostate Cancer. Dr. Fleming is a passionate speaker on the importance of cancer education and the early detection of prostate cancer.  

VOA radiation oncologist, Michael L. Miller, DO, will be speaking on Radiation Oncology Services in Hampton Roads: The Latest Updates. Dr. Miller is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology and specializes in Radiation Oncology.  

Genetics Counselor Manager at VOA, Tifany Lewis will be discussing Is Cancer Genetic? Genetic Testing Implications for the Patient and Family. Ms. Lewis heads the Genetic Counseling team at Virginia Oncology Associates where she offers education and support for patients seeking information on their risk of developing an inherited medical condition.  

The seminar will be held at the TPMG Training and Education Center at the TPMG Omni Campus located at 11761 Rock Landing Boulevard in Newport News. The 2019 “Man Up” Men’s Health Seminar is a free, open-to-the-public event sponsored by Anthem HealthKeepers.  A local Anthem HealthKeepers  representative will be present to answer questions and explain options available to Hampton Roads Medicare beneficiaries.
